City Ice Company Truck
A man removes a bag from the back of an International truck owned by City Ice Company. The truck is parked on a street in front of a coffee shop which advertises Coca-Cola. The original caption reads: "The City Ice Company of Portland, Oregon, which is affiliated with the Northwest Ice & Cold Storage Company, recently purchased four K-5 and one K-8 Internationals. Three of the K-5's and the K-8 are shown at the ice plant in accompanying illustrations. Each is equipped with van-panel body which is attractively finished in blue and yellow. The small K-5's are operated on retail routes with an average of 235 stops and 42 miles per day. The larger K-8 delivers ice mainly to re-sale boxes located in various parts of Portland and suburbs within a radius of 8 miles of the plant. The City Ice Company has been buying Internationals since 1930. Its fleet now consists of 15 units." |
