Exterior view of the Wausaukee Public Library. Above the windows on the second floor is painted: "Free Library" in large letters. Two signs advertise: "Booth's Oysters." The wooden two-story building has an open porch. There is a restaurant on the first floor. Additional notes from "Some Wisconsin Library Buildings, 1904." Established 1902. 1,000 volumes. This "social hall" was given by Hon. H. P. Bird as an attempt at the solution of the social problem of a small lumber town. The building contains library, reading-room. lunch and dining room, and amusement room. |
