Gilbert M. Simmons Public Library
Interior view of the Gilbert M. Simmons Public Library. The library opened in 1900 and was funded with a gift of $150,000 from G.M. Simmons. On the right is a librarian's desk, and reading tables and chairs are along the edges of the room. A few freestanding bookshelves are distributed along the marble walls of the room. Large chandeliers hang from the high ceiling, and large windows are on all three sides of the room. |
