Copy Photograph of George Standing Water
A Ho-Chunk man is posing standing in a field, holding an object in his left hand. He is wearing regalia including a long bandoleer which appears to have bells attached, light-colored leggings, a fur belt, and dark breech cloth. He is identified as George Standing Water of the Blue Wing Band, clan name Water Spirit Little Ocean Waves, circa 1907. In the background there are two men standing on the left, and a horse pulling a wagon or carriage on the right. Tents are in the far background near a hill with trees. |
