"Homecoming for the G.I.s"
Poster advertising a weekend-long rally held October 30-November 1, 1970 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. An illustrated soldier rests with his head down. He is holding a gun against his shoulder and a helmet in his lap has a peace sign on it. Artist Leonard Cohen, featured speaker Jeff Martin (a Wisconsin native on his way to Vietnam), and music by Bliss are the named attractions. A mass rally and march to Camp Randall Stadium was also a part of the weekend-long event. The poster was "authorized and paid for by Madison Area Peace Coalition (phone 256-0857)." |
