Drilling Operation at Indianapolis Works
| Factory workers at International Harvester's Indianapolis Works. Each wears a protective apron, and eyeglasses. Original caption states: "Battery of Pratt and Whitney machines used for rifle drilling 3/16 in. oil hole the full length of the connecting rod, connecting the crankshaft bearing end with the piston pin end. This machine is not only automatic but frees itself of chips. The operators are shown unloading and reloading one fixture, while the other five spindles are drilling. This drilling operation helps produce International Trucks' featured "force-feed oil system." |
