Processing Sisal Fiber at A Twine Mill
Factory workers process sisal fiber to produce binder twine, possibly at the McCormick Twine Mill. Original caption reads: "The raw material for twine enters this machine as fiber, comes out in a blend called 'sliver.' It has been properly treated with an emulsion lubricant, and insect and rodent repellent. Weight-checking is constant to assure uniformity of finished product." |
