West Pullman Works managers standing with a refrigerator produced for the U.S. Marines. Original caption reads: "International, self-contained, engine-driven, portable. Sold to U.S. Marines and delivered to the Philadelphia Navy Yard March 19, 1941. No. 12 cooler cabinet with International 1.5 HP condensing Unit operated by La 1.5-2.5 HP engine. Has approximate 50 cubic foot capacity and will hold approximately a ton of meat around 36 degrees F. Mr. Watling (left) superintendent of West Pullman Works and Mr. Johnson (assistant superintendent, right)-standing behind the unit." |
