International Harvester 20 mm Gun Plant
A factory worker operating a broaching machine at International Harvester's 20 millimeter gun plant. Original caption reads: "Broaching is a conspicuous feature of Harvester methods in manufacturing the 20 m.m. cannon, both for the tube and for holes in the receiver body or breech block. Two makes of broaching machines are used on the barrel, American and LeBlond. These machines are 26 feet long, and the lead screw which produce the rifling, are respectively 2-1/2 inches and 2 inches in diameter." |
