International Harvester 20 mm Gun Plant
A factory worker operates a grinder at International Harvester's 20 millimeter gun plant. Original caption reads: "The Harvester gun plant management is especially proud of its technique for the inside grinding of the cartridge chamber in the tube, which involves tapering and calls for high precision operation. For this work a Heald internal grinder, a two-piece machine, is used. It is used to grind the straight chamber and three angles." A sign in the background reads: "See your war production bulletin board." |
