An uncropped version of this illustration appeared in the 1876 edition of The Legislative Manual of the State of Wisconsin. The engraving was prepared by the Milwaukee Litho. & Engr. Co. When it was republished in the 1877 Manual, the following credit line appeared in the lower right-hand corner: "H.C. Koch, Arch't." Koch was a prominent Milwaukee architect who designed other University buildings including, with Allan D. Conover, the second Science Hall in 1885. Used as a frontispiece in The Centennial Records of the Women of Wisconsin, 1876. |
