Manuscript
Washington, D.C.

Large-format, illustrated stationery purchased by Rudolph Fine, a member of the 6th Wisconsin Infantry in August, 1861, showing the Capitol (in actuality, the dome was still under construction at the time), and maps of northern Virginia and the immediate capitol area. The latter shows the location of the battle of Bull Run which took place on July 21 which indicates the haste with which Magnus made the stationery available for sale. |
