The accompanying press release from the International Harvester Consumer Relations Department reads, "Four-wheel drive, a five-foot-long pickup body for a full load of gear and a thrifty four-cyclinder engine make International Harvester Company's new all-purpose Scout a vehicle well-suited for weekend campers and hunters. The Scout also features a removable steel top for its three-person passenger compartment, removable door glass, removable doors, and a fold-down windshield. In addition to the Scout four-wheel drive model (above), a two-wheel drive model also is offered. Option equipment includes a one-piece full-length steel Travel-Top, a winch, power takeoff, snow plow and extra gas tanks. Scout suggested retail prices begin at $1598, plus federal and local taxes, FOB, Fort Wayne, Ind." |
