French Gratitude Train Boxcar

French Gratitude Train boxcar, (Merci Train) carrying gifts for the state of Wisconsin, on a flatbed truck on the grounds of the Wisconsin State Capitol Building. "Train de la Reconnainssance Francaise." The train was composed of 49 cars, each bearing gifts for each one of the United States plus one car with gifts to be divided between Hawaii and Alaska, which had not yet been granted statehood. |
