Mowing Along Waterfront (League Island?)
A man in work clothes is operating a horse-drawn mower in a patch of grass along a waterfront, while another man wearing a hat and tie is looking on. Ships, a dock, and a crane are on the shoreline. The words "League Island Phila" have been etched in the emulsion of the photograph along the left vertical edge. League Island was a naval shipbuilding yard on the Delaware River from the mid 19th to late 20th centuries. |
