Text on back reads, "BOSNIA, A territory of Europe, enclosed by Dalmacia, Slavonia, Servia, Albania and Montenegro. It was formerly a Turkish Vilayet, but is now under Austro-Hungary. The country is very mountainous and better adapted to grazing and stock raising than to the cultivation of grains. Fruits are an abundant product, especially prunes. The Bosnians are of Slavic stock, finely formed and intelligent. This young man in his picturesque national dress is a fair type of the average Bosnian. The Singer Machine has found its way into the mountain and valley homes of Bosnia and large numbers are sold annually." |
