First Train Ride Provided by Fun Fund
| Roundy's Fun Fund and the Milwaukee Road provided forty children from the remedial department of the Madison public schools with their first train ride to Janesville. Riding in a brand new deluxe coach, they enjoyed refreshments and a lunch. Their escorts were: Carl Waller, superintendent of the schools handicapped children department; Rufus F. Wells, Fun Fund committee chairman, and Mrs. Wells; Bernard Gill committee secretary and Mrs. Gill; Mrs. Edith Goodman, Roundy Coughlin's secretary; three teachers; the railroad's district passenger agent and two uniformed railroad police officers. |
