Four Truax barracks apartment neighbors who rescued Walter Alburn and two of his children from the Alburn apartment after a kerosene explosion and resulting fire. Walter's wife, Dorothy, was also carried from the apartment but died later in a hospital. The neighbors in the picture are, left to right: Henry Osborne, a construction worker; Floyd Boyles, a county highway employee; William Ashley, a mechanic at Oscar Mayer and Company; and Donald Crabtree, a driver for the Royal Crown soft drink firm, holding his daughter Darcey Lee. The dog in the picture belonged to the Alburn family. |
