Four Truax barracks apartment neighbors who rescued Walter Alburn and two of his children from the Alburn apartment after a kerosene explosion and resulting fire. Walter's wife, Dorothy, was also carried from the apartment but died later in a hospital. The neighbors in the picture are, left to right: Henry Osborne, a construction worker; Floyd Boyles, a county highway employee; William Ashley, a mechanic at Oscar Mayer and Company; and Donald Crabtree, a driver for the Royal Crown soft drink firm, holding his daughter Darcey Lee. The dog in the picture belonged to the Alburn family.
DESCRIPTION
Four Truax barracks apartment neighbors who rescued Walter Alburn and two of his children from the Alburn apartment after a kerosene explosion and resulting fire.
