McKinley Campaign Poster

Organizational poster for a young men's Republican Club in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, to support the 1896 Presidential campaign of William McKinley. The Presidential campaign of 1896 was probably the only campaign in which monetary policy was such an important issue. Republican McKinley supported retention of the gold standard while his Democratic opponent William Jennings Bryan advocated free silver coinage. |
