Woman with Umbrella that Short-Circuited Power Line
Mrs. Marian M. (Mary) Hammang, secretary in the office of the University of Wisconsin buildings and grounds, posing with an umbrella that was blown by high winds into a high voltage line, short-circuiting the power and causing a dim-out over Madison's west and south sides. The umbrella belonged to Betty Solum of Baraboo, a freshman in home economics at the university. |
