Manchesters Window Art
Featured in a Harry S. Manchesters window titled "Dreamland," 2 East Mifflin Street, is a painting of a farm near Madison by John Atherton for The Saturday Evening Post cover, November 6, 1948. The machine pictured in the Atherton painting is a husker and shredder, which sends the husked ears into the waiting truck, chops the stalk and blows the choppings into the mow, like hay. The power comes from a tractor. |
