The manuscript note on the reverse of the photograph calls this the house in which the first white child in Milwaukee was born. However, the first white child was the daughter of Uriel B. Smith, born 1835, in a frame house on East Water Street near Wisconsin Street. Unless the building was moved and given a brick and cement base at a later date, this information is incorrect. |
