In July 1833, Morgan L. Martin, a land promoter and speculator, visited the site of Milwaukee and drew this map. It is the earliest known depiction of the city. Notable features include and Indian village and the trading posts of Jacques Vieau and Solomon Juneau. In October 1833, Martin and Juneau formed a partnership to develop the site. This copy of the map was possibly re-drawn by James S. Buck in 1876.
