Keltner Home
Built 1836-37, on the northwest corner of Florida and Greenbush. A manuscript note on the reverse of the photograph called it the "oldest school under destruction [sic].," but research revealed no mention that this had been used as a school. However, in the early period of Milwaukee history, many schools rented various homes, church basements, etc., to hold classes until they could afford to build; this house may well have been so used at some time. |
