Gettelman Brewery
The brewery was built by George Schweickhart after he came to the city in 1856. He purchased three acres of land on the then Watertown Plank road, now just off the present State Street, and built the first structure. Additions were gradually built, and the old Gettelman home was also incorporated into the brewery proper. Adam Gettelman took over the business in about 1876 after Schweickhart retired. |
