Fifth Speed (Safety First), Tractor Safety Cartoon

Cartoon from an International Harvester operator's manual. The cartoon appears under the heading: "Fifth Speed (Safety First)". The cartoon depicts a man riding a personified tractor that is in mud and has a log attached to the rear wheel. The tractor says: "Hey! Ya Wanna Turn Me Over?" A caption below the cartoon reads: "If the tractor will not move because the rear wheels have dug in or sunk deeply into the ground, don't fasten logs, posts, or anything to the rear wheels that will prevent them from rotating. This would be certain to tip the tractor over backward. Instead..." |
