| McCormick Works was in operation from 1873 to 1961 and was located at Blue Island Avenue and Western Avenue in the Chicago subdivision called "Canalport." The "Carr for Sheriff" reference is most likely Patrick J."Paddy" Carr who died on November 29, 1926, of stomach ulcers shortly after becoming sheriff-elect of Cook County (Chicago). |
