The original caption reads: "Centerless grinder in ball bearing department at West Pullman Works (Chicago) of International Harvester Company, through which outer races require a number of passes to insure required tolerances. Races ground in each pass are segregated in the four compartments of the rotary hopper beside the operator. Races removed from one compartment for a grinding cycle are returned automatically to an adjacent compartment by a steel track from the discharge end of the grinder." |
