It was established in 1853 by Samuel Marshall, the first state bank to be organized under the general banking law of 1852. Along with business partner, Charles F. Ilsley, Marshall incorporated the Marshall and Ilsley Bank in Milwaukee in 1888. See also Image ID: 103370 |
