Six World War I veterans at a "Red Arrow" veterans dinner honoring Bishop William P. O'Connor who was a chaplain of Wisconsin's 32nd division in World War I. Pictured from left to right are: Rev. John B. Piette, Portage; Rev. Gustav Stearns, Milwaukee, Protestant chaplain with the division; Bishop O'Connor; Col. Carl Penner, Milwaukee, wartime commander of the 120th field artillery; Dr. William F. Lorenz, toastmaster; and Rev. George Eilers, Fond du Lac, former classmate of the bishop's. |
