Non-Reversable Marine Drive
Non-reversing marine drive that was a later component of a 800 foot Great Lakes bulk carrier. This unit was purchased by the Electro Motive Division of the General Motors Company. Original Falk caption reads, "Unit drive by three 900 HP EMD engines. The port and starboard engines are mounted forward and the vertical engine is mounted a foot over the propeller shaft. Propeller is a 120 RPM Bird Johnson controllable pitch propeller. Thrust bearing is a 31 inch Kingsbury and is mounted in its own cylindrical housing forward of the unit."
