The Snow Flyer

Winter scene with Harold O. Hornburg of Hartland, Wisconsin, who stated that "he is standing on the front of the machine with his hands on his hips. His buddy, Allen D. Wilde (behind with his arm resting on the top of the machine), also from Hartland, and another unidentified friend, made this vehicle as a recreational venture from a Model T Ford chassis (like an early snowmobile), and attempted to get to Milwaukee during a heavy snowfall. They did." Described in an ad from the Mission House (now Lakeland College Spectrum), 1929, as The Snow Flyer, made by The Snow Flyer Corp., New Holstein, Wisconsin. |
