Head and shoulders portrait of Milwaukee Braves relief pitcher Don McMahon. A rookie in 1957, McMahon made his first appearance for the Braves on June 30, striking out seven Pirates in four scoreless innings of relief. He immediately became the team's closer. McMahon led the Braves in saves in 1957, with an outstanding 1.54 ERA and performed impressively in the Braves' three 1957 World Series losses. |
