Governor's Residence
Wisconsin Governor's residence with snow on the ground, 130 East Gilman Street. The house was built for General Julius White in 1856. Succeeding owners were General George Delaplaine who added the first central heating system to the house, and later, J.G. Thorp, a Wisconsin lumberman. The first governor to live there was Jeremiah M. Rusk, 1883. The last governor to live in the residence was Oscar Rennebohm in 1950. |
