Warning Against Alcohol

Industrial health and safety sign or poster warning against the dangers of drinking mixtures with alcohol. The sign reads: "Warning; Do not drink any mixture with—ALCOHOL. The supposed drinks with a "kick" have proved many times to contain—POISON. Coroner Hoffman of Chicago reports that since July 1st, 1919, 20 people in the City of Chicago have been killed using these drinks. In justice to your family, you cannot afford to indulge in such drinks, as they may contain—POISON." The two newspaper articles photocopied onto the sign read, "3 More Killed by Drinking 'Dry Era' Alcohol" and "Wood Alcohol Kills 7; Coroner Asks New Law." |
