Map reads "Our Country" which is accompanied by a sailor with a flag to the left and workers rejoicing under the Constitution and Laws to the right. Across the top of the map there are four artistic engravings of agriculture, the arts, manufactures <i>[sic]</i>, and commerce. On the left and right sides of the map are names of influential politicians, past and present. Across the bottom of the map are engravings from each century of the history of the United States including; Columbus leaving Palos for America in 1492, Raleigh's first expedition landing at Roanoke Island in 1584, the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth in 1620, the Battle of Bunker Hill during the Revolutionary War in 1775, Benjamin Franklin at the National Convention in 1787, and lastly, Fulton's first steamboat shown to an Indian. Within the map, there is an inset of a table with the populations of each state and a map of Mexico. Each state capitol is marked with a red dot.
