Photographer's credit on back reads, "S.M. Fassett, Artistic Photography, 114 South Clark St., Chicago, Ills." At the Columbian Exposition of 1893 in Chicago, Hosmer was awarded $25,000 for her marble statue of Queen Isabella. From album of portrait photographs collected by Lapham depicting scientists and artists, ca. 1860-ca. 1875. Images include portraits of geologists, botanists, sculptors, and authors. Album includes a brief obituary entry for Hosmer, dated Feb. 22, 1908. |
