Frances Bull Fairchild and Caryl Fairchild

Frances (Bull) Fairchild (1845-1924), right, wife of Wisconsin Governor Lucius Fairchild, and her daughter Caryl (b. 1875), probably Madison, WI. Both are wearing court dresses for presentation to royalty. Caryl's dress was made from yellow silk satin. Mrs. Fairchild's dress was purple velvet with lavender satin. Frances Fairchild's dress, designed by Charles Frederick Worth, Paris, France, for presentation to the Spanish court in 1880. |
