Mount Zircon Spring Water Company

Four men pose around an International truck, probably a Model H, owned and operated by the Mount Zircon Spring Water Co. The truck is loaded with cases and bottles of sparkling water and ginger champagne. Behind them is the company's corner store, Chas. S. Judkin's Real Estate office, and Edmand's Everything Electrical shop. The older man in the photo may be Charles S. Judkins. |

The original print is labeled "Boston," but that may refer to the International Harvester's Boston branch house rather than the location of the photo. The Mount Zircon Spring Water Company was based in Rumford, Maine, but had its own branch house in Boston. See article in "Re-ly-on Bottler," Vol. 4, No. 12, December 1923, pp.9-10. The 1920 Federal Census has Charles S. Judkins as a real estate "operator" in Boston. The original photo was stored in an album of Model H (a.k.a. "21") trucks. |
