Photograph taken for International Harvester's Agricultural Extension Department. Folder: Poultry The photograph caption reads, "Unfortunately the color effects do not show in this photograph. Zula's mother sold all the hens she could spare the first week in February at seventy-five cents each alive in Birmingham. That was a mistake as she had fed them all winter while they were taking a vacation from laying and they would have started producing eggs in a very short time. However, if the entire flock had been sold at that price and a few good standard bred fowls purchased to replace them, it would have been a good transaction." |
