One of two images. Published in the Wisconsin State Journal on August 16, 1945. Two masked bandits armed with a gun and a black jack escaped with $2,000 in checks and cash from the Laurel Tavern after taking the bartender from his home at gunpoint and forcing him to open a safe in the tavern. |
