Park Hotel

Park Hotel from a clipping taken from the Park Falls Herald of April 5, 1962. The caption reads: "Park Hotel was a landmark in the early days of Park Falls, and faced the Soo Line depot across the little park that remains. The building was located where Hegstrom Jewelers and Tucker's Drug Store now stand, and was owned by Miss Helen Thompson, on porch, right. Taken about 1910, the picture shows a number of local teachers who ate their meals at the hotel, and on porch left, is "Choreboy" Joe Johnson. Miss Thompson later was the first woman to be elected to the Wisconsin Assembly, and served this district. The hotel later became a business building, and finally was destroyed by fire." |
