In his book "The Reaper," John F. Steward claims that the photograph was taken on the farm of Fred Runger just west of Chicago, Illinois. He further claims that the reaper in the photo is a "model" of the first reaper. Part of the Glass negative series, ca. 1900-1930. KK-25
