Pioneer Christmas Scene
Reenacting a pioneer Christmas custom of many foreign settlers in the early days of Wisconsin of singing carols around the family organ, are left to right: Roy Vogelman, announcer at WHA, University of Wisconsin radio station; Mrs. Esther Hotten, announcer and engineer (seated at the State Historical Society Museum's old organ); and Mrs. Aline Hazard, director of the station's Homemaker's program. The group is dressed in costumes of the pioneer era. The museum's exhibition is called "Christmas Customs in Wisconsin." |
