Grocery Truck
Universal Delivery Grocery Truck built by the Wisconsin Wagon Company. The photograph was taken in 1921, about the time the company relocated its operations from Sauk City to Madison. The "We Live and Let Live" sign on the back of the truck is a reference to the fierce competition then current between grocery chains, of which Universal was one, and the independent grocery stores. |
