Mrs. Augusta Giddings
Mrs. Augusta Giddings signs documents, with Mayor Halsey Kreage as a witness, selling her property at the eastern end of the 900 block of East Gorham Street, at North Brearly Street, to the City of Madison for use as a park. In 1956, Christ Presbyterian Church bought the other half of the block, called the Sullivan Property. They were able to negotiate with the city for the exchange of the Sullivan property's frontage on the lake for the Giddings Park frontage on Gorham Street. |
