Engraving of Old Abe, mascot of the 8th Wisconsin Civil War Voluntary Infantry, displayed for a crowd. The eagle bearer holds Old Abe's staff perch while two other uniformed soldiers stand nearby. In the background is an indistinct crowd of soldiers with bayonets pointing skyward, and well-dressed onlookers watching the spectacle.
