Townsend Club Convention

Wisconsin attendees at the 6th annual convention of Townsend Clubs, June 30-July 4, 1941. The convention was held in Buffalo, New York. The Townsend Club movement advocated a two hundred dollar per month pension to be paid to every person over sixty years of age as a way of ending the Great Depression. The pensions were to be financed by a 2 percent sales tax. |
