Rennebohm, the founder of Rennebohm Drug Stores, Inc., in Madison, was one of a number of businessman without prior government experience who were nominated for high office by the Republican Party during the 1940s. Rennebohm was nominated as lieutent governor in 1944. He became governor after the death of Walter Goodland. In the gubernatorial election of 1950 Rennebohm was followed by Walter J Kohler, Jr. |
