Syvert A. Lee

Full-length cabinet card portrait of Syvert A. Lee, a private in Company H, 15th Wisconsin Infantry in uniform next to a prop baluster and railing. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Deerfield, Wisconsin. On January 25, 1864, he enlisted into service and on February 16, 1864, he mustered into service and the age of 19. He joined up with Company H on March 31, 1864, at Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. On May 27, 1864, during the fighting at Altoona Mountain, near New Hope Church, Georgia, he was taken prisoner and listed as missing in action. On February 13, 1864, he was temporarily attached to the 24th Wisconsin Infantry and was transferred to Company K, Wisconsin 13th Infantry on June 13, 1865. He was mustered out of service with Company K, Wisconsin 13th Infantry on November 11, 1865, at San Antonio, Texas. |
